Oak furniture export from Ukraine is gaining momentum as demand grows in European and global markets. Local manufacturers work with global retailers like Jysk, XXXLutz, IKEA, and others – thanks to consistent quality, competitive pricing, and full traceability of raw materials.
In 2024, furniture exports from Ukraine reached $909 million, a 15.5% increase compared to 2023. Of this amount, $465.2 million came from the category “other furniture and parts” (HS code 9403), with oak-based wooden furniture making up a significant share.

In Q1 2025, exports of wooden furniture (HS 9403, including subcategories 940340, 940350, 940360) amounted to $138.98 million, up 11.1% year-over-year (compared to $125.09 million in Q1 2024).

How EUDR affects Ukrainian oak exports
The new EU Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR) requires proof of legal timber origin. In theory, this ends the era of illegal imports from russia and belarus.
But in practice, as ITC Trade Map and Greenpeace analytics show, Russian timber still reaches the EU market – now routed via China, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
How russian wood gets re-exported:
- 🇨🇳 China imports over $3.16B of timber from Russia and exports $4.3B+ worth of wood products to the EU, US, and UK.
- 🇹🇷 Turkey has doubled imports from Russia while tripling exports to the EU since 2022.
- 🇰🇿 Kazakhstan, with almost zero wood exports before 2022, is now a multi-million-dollar supplier to Europe and beyond.
This is more than sanctions evasion – it’s a direct threat to ethical suppliers. EUDR aims to block this backdoor trade.
Why Ukrainian oak furniture suppliers are trusted partners
Ukrainian oak furniture producers with years of export experience offer:
- Transparent geolocation of logging sites
- Raw materials from officially registered forests
- Full EUDR compliance documentation
- Long-standing partnerships with Jysk, XXXLutz, IKEA, and others
This creates a unique opportunity to become a reliable and responsible furniture supplier in a market where wood origin is not just a technicality – it’s a condition for access.

“We’re not afraid of EUDR, – says Vasyl Lazorovych Flekkevchuk, owner of one of Ukraine’s largest furniture factories. – 100% of our oak is purchased through official auctions. We are FSC-certified and fully compliant with EU requirements.”
